Thanks for these series of Kitano stills Blake, you're a scholar and a gentleman! As for my favorite Kitano film, I'd probably go with Hana-bi if I was forced to choose (I love all of his films). I see it as his magnum opus of sorts, a perfect summation of his works. It also contains perhaps one of the most affecting closing scenes in cinema history for me. Hauntingly poetic.

"Violent Cop". Japanese Dirty Harry, the name says it all! I was also a fan of "Kikujiro" I thought it was a really cute story, that showed Kitano has plenty of range as a filmmaker. I just scored a copy of "Dolls" but I have yet to watch it. It sounds like a Japanese version of "Three Times".
